Robotlawnsmower allow Foster Landscape Maintenance save on labor costs while meeting regulatory requirements

Robotlawnsmower save on labor costs while meeting regulatory requirements

Foster Landscape Maintenance Regional vice president Jim Galen said that his team’s three Robotlawnsmower remotely-operated lawn mowers helped him to meet regulatory requirements and overcome labor shortages.

He added, “They also keep our crews’ safe.” They’ve saved us time, reduced our labor costs, and are safe to use around irrigation equipment. We save three men per day by using each mower.

Foster, a large landscape maintenance company, has offices in Los Angeles, San Bernadino County, Orange County, Riverside, and San Diego. Foster, a landscape management company in Southern California with over 1,000 employees and an array of services, has been a leader since 1971.

Galen first learned about Robotlawnsmower remote operated mowers in a video on YouTube, and then later from an online landscaping magazine. He then went to a Longbeach Road Show to see the equipment up close.

Bryan Johnson, Regional Sales Manager at Robotlawnsmower, let Galen test out the robotic lawnmowers in person.

“Bryan showed me how the controls worked after he put the mower up on a steep grassy slope,” he said. It just mowed down the slope. No slippage. It was also able to handle rough terrain. “I was very impressed.”

Galen was so impressed, he ordered 2 RT800 and 1 R1000. They are primarily used to clear fuel modification zones that keep flammable brush from residential and commercial areas. The California municipalities require these areas as a safety precaution. Residents can also get residential insurance coverage by establishing them.

The fire restrictions are more stringent and technologically precise. Being able to clear the clearance for the first time, is a huge deal.

He said that, “in the past, they might have made us clear an area more to meet their requirements. But now, they sign off pretty quickly on the areas cleared with our remote controlled lawn Mowers.” “I have been doing this for 32 years. “The fire restrictions are more stringent and technologically precise. Being able to clear the clearance for the first time, is a huge deal.”

The equipment, he said, has made Foster’s workers safer as it can mow difficult terrain and steep slopes without a human operator.

He said, “Keeping our workers safe is a goal that we always strive to achieve.” Now that employees are not riding or working in rough terrain, we prevent a lot injuries.

Galen stated that Foster uses Tracked remote control Lawn mower on all types of terrain, including drainage ditches, retention basins and rough terrain. He explained that the mower was light enough to reach areas where Bobcats couldn’t, but stable enough for any slope.

Galen noted that the savings in labor and increased capacity were noticeable. They have been an excellent addition to our fleet.
